At the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival, Harry Styles was seen approaching his chair next to Pine but bizarrely gobbed in the actor’s lap in front of his rumored girlfriend, Olivia Wilde, before taking his seat. The quality of the video wasn’t that clear, which makes it more difficult to figure out if the actor really spat on his co-star. However, Pine’s odd reaction while looking at Styles – who is too busy beaming at the crowd apparently says it all.

At Harry Styles’ concert at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, the singer finally breaks his silence on the swirling internet buzz by jokingly saying, “I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine.”

See the video below captured by concert attendee Maria.

Although Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling is getting a lot of noise due to her alleged feud with Florence Pugh and Shia LaBeouf, there’s no evident reason for the As It Was singer to spat on his co-actor.

Shortly after the spitgate controversy, Chris Pine’s representative sent a statement to Variety to deny the claims that Styles spat on him, calling it a “ridiculous story.” See the statement below:

Don’t Worry Darling will hit the big screens on September 23.
