Ewan Mitchell recently spoke to The Face where he didn’t get to share a funny story because he chose to do Method acting while working on House of the Dragon. “I’m quite serious, probably way too much. I think method acting gets a bad rap nowadays, but if you consider it [in relation to] people’s time, it’s certainly not a bad thing,” he said.

Mitchell added that it was better to stay in character as Aemond Targaryen since it allowed him to work better. “For Aemond, I definitely stayed in a state of character, because his temperature is so high, and I’m quite calm and collected,” he said. “So instead of fluctuating between the two, I’d find a middle ground that I could relax into between takes. For me, it made it that little bit more work efficient.” It’s interesting to learn a Method actor’s thoughts about staying in character. It certainly makes sense to remain in a state where it’s easier to slip back into his role rather than making things more difficult for the crew. With that in mind, Ewan Mitchell’s Method acting has helped him play Aemond convincingly and we can’t wait to see more of the character in the next season. House of the Dragon has already been renewed for a second season but HBO has yet to announce when the show will return. House of the Dragon Season 2 does not have an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
