What Is The Eminence in Shadow All About?
Based on a light novel series written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tōzai, The Eminence in Shadow tells the story of aspiring mastermind Cid Kagenou. We’ve seen plenty of isekai anime with an OP main character, but what if a character had no interest in becoming an overpowered hero? Cid Kagenou’s dream is to be a puppetmaster in the shadows; the mastermind behind every major event that happens. In his previous life in contemporary Japan, Cid didn’t achieve his dreams, but he gets another chance. Reincarnated in a magical world, Cid fakes an organization that he names “Shadow Garden” and recruits individuals to help him defeat a mysterious cult. Cid aims to be the mastermind behind everything that happens and show the true eminence of shadows.
Will The Eminence in Shadow Be Dubbed in English?
The English dub of The Eminence in Shadow has finally been announced! Currently, you can watch The Eminence in Shadow on HIDIVE where it is available in Japanese audio with English subtitles. However, this is about to change soon as the English dubbed version becomes available too. HIDIVE is a rising anime platform that isn’t as popular or well-known as Crunchyroll, but it’s growing into a formidable competitor, having exclusive rights to at least a few of each season’s most popular titles, including The Eminence in Shadow.
When Will The Eminence in Shadow Be Dubbed in English?
The Eminence in Shadow’s English dub is coming out on December 26, 2023. The anime didn’t start with huge expectations like other titles, but it did gain traction soon enough. Many moderately popular anime still get simuldubs, with the English version starting its run while the original Japanese version is still airing. Other new shows get English dubs almost immediately after their original run. For The Eminence in Shadow, the dub release date ended up being a little after the midway point, with a few more episodes to go. Given the popularity of The Eminence in Shadow, it is no surprise that it was chosen to receive a dubbed version, even if it took a little while.
